Numeric designation of NCEA class using a four-digit numerical code. For example, the code "05.20" corresponds to the class "Mining of lignite"

• Mining and quarrying include the extraction of hard coal, lignite, crude petroleum, natural gas, uranium ores, and support activities for petroleum and natural gas extraction.
• Manufacturing includes the production of coke and coke oven products, industrial gases, petroleum products, nuclear fuel, electric motors, generators and transformers, electrical distribution and control equipment, radiators and central heating boilers, steam boilers.
• Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply includes the production, transmission, distribution and trade of electricity and gas, steam and air conditioning supply.
• Construction includes the construction of pipelines, power supply facilities, and exploratory drilling.
• Wholesale and retail trade includes the trade of fuel, solid, liquid, gaseous fuels and related products.
