Electricity exports to Ukraine doubled over the week, while imports decreased by 42%

According to Energy Map data, during the period from June 16 to June 22, electricity exports to Ukraine doubled compared to the previous week, reaching 69.1 GWh. At the same time, imports decreased by 42%, amounting to 35.3 GWh. As a result, exports were twice as high as imports.

 

Electricity was exported daily to all neighboring European countries except Poland, where supplies have been suspended since March 16.

 

The largest export volumes were delivered to Hungary (35.3 GWh, or 51%), while Romania and Moldova each received 12.1 GWh (35% combined), and Slovakia received 9.6 GWh (14%).

 

Compared to the previous week, export volumes increased in all directions, with the most significant growth recorded for Moldova (a 4.6-fold increase) and Romania (2.3 times more).

 

Electricity was also imported daily, although import volumes from all supplying countries dropped by 20–66%. The import structure by country was as follows:

  • Hungary - 15.2 GWh (43%);
  • Slovakia - 6.9 GWh (19%);
  • Poland - 6.4 GWh (18%);
  • Romania - 5.2 GWh (15%);
  • Moldova - 1.6 GWh (5%).
